Martin Luther King Jr.'s Self-Development (Becoming a Leader)

King’s journey to leadership began with education. He earned a sociology degree from Morehouse College and later a doctorate in theology from Boston University, which refined his intellectual and moral foundation for activism.

His exposure to Gandhi’s principles of nonviolence reinforced his belief in peaceful resistance. As a pastor at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, he honed his public speaking skills and emerged as a leader in the fight against racial injustice.

Through organizing boycotts, protests, and speeches, he became the face of the civil rights movement. His leadership was tested through arrests and threats, but his unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and nonviolence solidified his place as one of history’s greatest leaders.
